Puppetry Workshops Offered
Check back often for new and updated workshops, as we're constantly developing new curriculum for different forms of puppetry!
Rod Puppet Workshop
Beginner Fabrication Workshop
This beginner friendly workshop teaches students how to make a rod puppet with a turning head and two arm rods. Students then get to explore character, arm rod manipulation, and movement through a series of performance exercises.
Hand Puppet Workshop
Beginner Fabrication Workshop
This beginner friendly workshop teaches students how to make a simple hand puppet with a mouth plate and focused eyes. Students then get to explore character, lip-sync, and focus in a short performance primer.
Marionette Workshop
Intermediate Fabrication Workshop
This intermediate workshop teaches students how to construct and string scarf-style marionettes. Once the puppets are constructed the students learn the basics of performing their new marionettes through a musical dance party.
Hand and Rod Workshop
Intermediate Fabrication Workshop
This intermediate workshop helps students fabricate and start to perform their own hand and rod style puppets, often called "TV Style" puppets. Students must know basic hand sewing in order to participate. Once the puppets are built the workshop focuses on developing character and practicing performance basics, like breath, focus, rod work, and lip sync.
